Orly Cosmic FX Covered in Diamonds

Hello everyone,

Today I have for you another gem from the Cosmic FX Collection - Galaxy Girl.

I actually think this is my favourite one in the collection. It is a deep red-toned purple with green shimmer fx.

This is full coverage in 2 coats. Such an interesting colour and I think it has unfairly been overlooked a little due to the hype of Space Cadet. This picture is after 3 days of wear so it's pretty hardy.

I decided to layer it with Color Club's Covered in Diamonds.

I think this look is awesome! This does dry a bit bumpy but with a thick layer or 2 of top coat will be fine. Sorry that the picture is blurry, I'm still getting my camera sorted!

I hope you've all had great weekends.

Orly - It's Not Rocket Science

Hello everyone!

I finally have a weekend to myself so can actually do a post for you!
These last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic - last Thursday was my boyfriends graduation which kinda went on til Sunday, and we're going on holiday Wednesday so I've been busy getting ready for that. The graduation was really fun and I was so proud of him when he collected his degree :) ...the after party was quite crazy and we ended up somehow smashing the lense of my camera so for the moment I am taking pictures on my phone! Sorry in advance.

Anyway, today I have the pleasure of showing you Orly's It's Not Rocket Science.

3 easily appliable coats.

This is a mesmerizing colour - olivey/swampy green base with green gold shimer fx.

I find it hard to find words to describe the polishes in this collection they are just so gorgeous.

I need real help deciding what polishes to take away with me. I'd like to go in BB Couture Sea of Cortez, then I'm thinking to take Luxe and I just invested in some Eyeko's and love the look of Lilac. But then I kinda want a coral so would like to take Essie Peach Daqiuri and then I wonder if I might want something vampy...but I'm only going for a week!!! Lol. What have you taken on holiday this year??

Apology!!! and Lunar Eclipse...

Firstly, I am sooooo sorry that I have been MIA for a week! For some reason life has just been pretty hectic. I'm just doing this now before I go to bed and then I'm off to the boy's for the weekend as he graduates tomorrow.

This is the most stunning blue I have ever seen! The colour is just electrifying!
I did 3 coats and have slight vnl but I really don't care when I get colour like this. You can see in the bottle the pink duochromeness although this doesn't show up as much on the nail but then I was only taking pics in direct sunlight. I just can't wait to wear this on my next night out - it's a real party colour!

I won't be back til Monday, so I hope you all have nice weekends.

Nails Inc - Garrick Street and Some New Additions...

Hiya!
Today is a re-swatch of the first polish I posted about. It is a stunningly beautiful purple/blue metallic shimmer with a hint of duochrome!!
I urge you to try and get your mitts on this one. I tried hard, but just couldn't quite capture it's beauty. Application as with most Nails Inc's was good - 3 coats with this to ensure opacity.
And...my Cosmic FX Collection arrived today :) I'm sooo happy!!

(not in the Cosmic FX Collection!) Color Club - Covered in Diamonds

l-r: It's Not Rocket Science, Space Cadet and Halleys Comet

l-r: Lunar Eclipse, Out Of This World, Galaxy Girl.

These are all so amazing I cannot describe it! I will be doing manis and reviews very soon for all of them.

Soooo glad I got 2 of Space Cadet as it's now sold out on Head2Toe Beauty. I also got another Covered in Diamonds and a little something else that I'm planning all to into my next giveaway :)

So the question is - which one do I start with?

Orly - Iron Butterfly

Today I am showcasing you my only matte in my collection - Orly's Iron Butterfly. It is amazing! This is 2 coats with base coat. The makers of matte polishes say you shouldn't use a base coat, but I've heard from other bloggers that you will get staining if you don't. I love this colour - it is a charcoal black with silver shimmer. It dries pretty quickly so you have to work quickly when applying. This picture was taken this morning, but after I spent the morning (and afternoon) shopping I noticed that the matteness had started to become a bit more satiny rather than a real non-shine matte. This was slightly dissapointing as I had to reapply another coat to matte it up again!

Of course - I couldn't resist putting a high shine top coat on this afternoon...

...again, quite lovely!

I know the matte look is a bit like marmite - but what do you guys think about it?

Orly Olé

Hello everyone.

I hope you've all had a nice weekend. Mine was lovely again. I spent the weekend on the Broads with my Dad and Stepmum. It brought back lots of memories from when we used to go on holiday there every Summer when I was little. We had a lovely lunch today in a pub by the river while enjoying the sunshine and watching the boats sail past :)

I got home and painted my nails with 2 coats of Olé. The below picture is without topcoat! Look how shiney!!

I got this from the salon last weekend and it wasn't until I got home that I thought I had a dupe...Essie Peach Daiquiri.

Not a great picture - but you have Olé on the left and Peach Daiquiri on the right. As you can see they are pretty darn close, but Olé is more orange than Peach Daiquiri.

Orly Olé is a perfect summer colour. It's one of those colours that are hard to describe. Orange, coral, and also pinky! You get the idea. Even though this is a mini, it still applied really nicely and was opaque in 2 coats.

I have no work this week so me and the boy are going camping in Devon. I am not clever enough to scheduled posts, so I'll be doing one more tomorrow and then I won't be back until next Sunday. Fear not though, I shall return and am planning a giveaway soon so watch this space!

Orly Shine

Wow. I am very impressed with this. Look how shiney it is! I mean I kinda guessed it might be abit shiney as that's it's name, but this is ridiculous. This is taken under lots of grey cloud!

2 coats of the glorious Orly Shine. With the Luxe and Rage I experienced some pretty bad shrinkage, but this time I used Nails Inc Caviar top coat instead of Essie Good to Go and I have none :) This is my most favourite collection ever! I love the metallicness and the microglitter, means that in the sunlight as well as being reflective, it is also sparkly. This silver also never leans green. I have Essie loophole and sometimes in indoors it can look a bit...I don't know, unclean kinda, this is just gorgeous in every light.

I am going to visit and stay at my Dad's new home today. He moved to the Norfolk Broads last week and loves it. I can't wait to be by the coast :)

Also, something random. I was driving to work the other day and saw a car and thought "Oh, I wonder what nail polish that colour is!" Do you ever think that or am I being getting possessed??

Orly Fiesta - Orly Viva Collection Summer 2010

Hello! Today I made a visit to my friends salon. Had an eyebrow tint and wax and picked up 2 mini Orly's. I got mates rates and ended up with all of that for £13!

I got Ole and Fiesta. 2 colours from the Orly Viva Collection for this summer.

Ole is a nice orange and Fiesta is a hot pink with pink shimmer.

Above - in natural light outside.

Above - in natural light inside.

This was opaque in 2 coats. It is hot hot hot!! I'm not really into pink much, but this I love. It dries not-so-shiney and I also cannot capture this properly with my camera which makes me think it is a bit neon? This is brighter and a bit darker shade of pink in real life. Can something be brighter and darker at the same time? It makes sense to me!

My Silvers - Comparison

It's Monday again! They come around way too quickly.

I thought that today I would show you my silvers. I only have 3 but thought you might like to see them.

l-r Collection 2000 Inca Silver, Orly Shine and Essie Loophole.

2 coats of colour only with flash.

Collection 2000 Inca Silver is a shiney silver foil - very similar to Shine, but the foil effect is not as fine and the particles slightly more chunkier.
Orly Shine is another shiney silver foil. This, in my opinion, is prettier than Inca Silver - just because it is shinier and the foil particles are finer and more glittery.
Essie Loophole is a plain silver. I am not overwhelmed by this silver. It looks really plain in anything other than flash and sun and compared to the other 2 is just not as pretty.

Without flash.

You can see what I mean about Loophole - kinda boring - and how the Orly is much shinier than Collection 2000.

Shine is definately my favourite, but would certainly recommend Inca Silver to you as it's cheaper and easier to get hold of for you UK ladies.

Love Tilly xx

Orly's - Rage and Prince Charming

Good evening everyone.

I hope you have all had a nice weekend and are not too disappointed with the football result today :(

Last time I posted was Thursday!! So...I gave blood Friday - and almost fainted but didn't thanks to the nurse tipping me upside down on the bed and putting wet tissue all over me! Lol. It was a bit scary and did give me a really weird feeling just as I finished my donation, but it won't put me off and I will be giving blood again in a few months.I went to a beautiful wedding yesterday - everything was so stunning and perfect. And of course we couldn't have asked for better weather. So I just want to send a congratulations out to the happy new husband and wife.

For the wedding I decided to wear Rage (the rose gold from the Orly Foil FX) as my dress had pinky coloured flours on.

This picture is not too great as it was taken in the campervan.

Application on my behalf wasn't great. I did this while the other half was in the bathroom. This is 2 coats. I love this collection - they are so shiney and pretty, but I seem to always get tip shrinkage with them. It happened on one nail with Luxe, but this time they all did it! It's so wierd because all my other Orly's are perfect! It must just be something in this formula that doesn't agree with Essie Good to Go topcoat.

So today I took this off as it was looking tatty and replace it with one of my favourites - Prince Charming.

This was 2 coats. This is a really chic colour and from swatches I've seen looks very similar to Chanel's Particuliere. Speaking of Chanel's. I had a quick look on ebay the other day as I was curious to see if there were any bargains...people were bidding £40/50 for a bottle?!?!!?!? I cannot believe this...no matter how much I fall in love with a colour I would never pay this! Is anyone with me here? It is crazyness!!

Orly - Monroe's Red

Firstly, well done England for yesterday :) I must also say that I LOVE David James. Can you believe he is 40 on 1st August?

I have for you today an older Orly - Monroe's Red. Tomorrow I am giving blood for the first time and thought this was fitting.

I was searching for a classic pin-up red on ebay earlier this year, found this and it was exactly what I was after. I really love it - as you can see from the lack of varnish in the bottle. This is 2 coats of perfectness with base and top coat. I know you can see my nail lines on some fingers, but this is not visible in real life.

However........

Click on the picture and you can see in the middle of the big O the goldy microshimmer. Although you can't really see this too much in real lighting, it does make this an interesting little polish.

Thanks for reading :)

Orly Luxe...Liquid Gold!

Happy Father's Day!

FYI Magic Attraction = a cow to remove. I need to invest in pure acetone I think!

Today I decided to try out Orly Luxe as Rebecca fancied them last week when I asked you guys which ones you wanted to see.

This is simply stunning. It is a really sexy gold that actually looks nice on me! My skin tone is actually less pink in real life. The gold is quite yellow but not trashy and it has micro shimmer throughout which gives it the foil effect. I expect it would shine beautifully in the sun, but there isn't any in England today, so I took a picture with flash instead.

This is like liquid gold - I can't stop staring at my nails. This is 2 coats by the way with top and base coat.

Tomorrow I'm going to get started on the Misa's :) Can't wait!!

Have a lovely relaxing Sunday.

Moon Manicure Attempt and Nails inc South Molten Street

Hello :)

I got in from work today and thought I would try out a half-moon manicure. It was a bit impromptu and I haven't really looked at any tips on how to do this so I just kinda chucked the varnish on.

I LOVE these colours together and when I caught glimpses of this in the mirror I absolutely adored it! I was just experimenting this time - hence the random pinky - but I will definately try this out again very soon as a proper manicure. I used Orly Shine over Crown Court from yesterday.

Well, this was far to "out there" for work, so I decided to do a nice pink for a change.

This is 3 coats of South Molten Street. It is a lovely pale pink and perfect for french manicures - which I think is what it was probably made for. As all Nails inc's, it applied perfectly and is super shiny. There is VNL, but I like it. I can't wait for the weekend though to use some proper fun colours! I think I will be doing Magic Attraction tomorrow night before the footy :)

Come on England!

New Bottles and Ciate LA Confidential PICTURE HEAVY!!

Happy Friday everyone...well almost!

Today I would like to show you some new polishes I have recently purchased. I would like you to all please vote for the colour you would like to see the most as I love them ALL!

***PICTURE HEAVY***

Not the clearest picture I'll admit but with a flash it just washes every colour out!

So l-r = (Nails inc "Jetsetter's Collection") All Saints Row (medium blue creme), Oxford Circus (pale pink creme), Devonshire Row (medium plum creme), Eden Grove (jade green creme) and Nfu Oh # 81 (reddy orange with lighter orange glitter)

l-r again = Orly Rage (rose gold foil metallic), Orly Shine (silver foil metallic), Orly Luxe (gold foil metallic), Color Club Sexy Siren (turquoisey blue glitter), Color Club Magic Attraction (pink and cilver holo glitter), OPI Dulce de Luce (pinky beige nude).

Those Orly's are HOT!!! I cannot wait to wear them all. I also adore the sparkle in the Color Clubs and the Nails Inc are really fun colours for summer - sorry about how terrible that pic is btw it really doesn't do them justice.

So I decided to swatch the Orly's and Color Club over MUA Shade 1 - just because I couldn't wait!!

Thumb - luxe, index - shine, middle - rage, ring - magic attraction and pinky - sexy siren.

Then I took all those off and got ready for my Patriotic mani...

Yes, this isn't patriotic at all, but there is still 1 working day left. I shouldn't really be wearing this to work tomorrow, but as it's a Friday I can get away with it!

This is 3 coats of Ciate LA Confidential. It is a lovely milky white. There is still VNL but I really like it because it's not chalky and harsh, but actually very chic. 1 coat looks really nice too, just gives a nice healthy colour and shine to your nails. The pinky star is done freehand (badly) in Orly Luxe...doesn't she shine nice though?

Part 2 of my mani will be completed tomorrow after work, but I may not have time to show you until Sunday as I, again, am neglecting the world of blogging for the weekend. Shock! Horror!!

So as I said - I want you to tell me which new polish I should wear for my mani next weekend!! I say next weekend as these aren't quite office appropriate. Lol.

Gosh I am rambling a lot...have nice weekends everybody :) :) :) :) :)

Ciate Paint Pots Finds!

Hello everyone.

Before I start on what I've been up to today, check out Villiers Street with Orly Matte Top Coat...

Excuse the 3 day old manicure please :)

Today me and the mother went on a quick shopping spree to primark. I managed to get a full summer wardrobe including tops, tunics, dresses, sandals and sunglasses for under £60. I was so impressed. I'll have to show you the cutest tunic when I wear it. It's beige and has black swallows all over it. SO cute and was a fiver!!!

However, my bargain finding didn't stop there...we ventured into Debenhams and I came across a stand with Ciate nail polishes on for - get this - £1!!!! There was just one colour - Silk Stockings, and from all I could see they were just discontinued and looked like they needed a shake. So I immediately picked one up and made my way to the till. But lo and behold there were more at the till!!

I picked up one of each available.

L-R LA Confidential - a milky white creme
Silk Stockings - a custardy yellow creme
Mine's a Mocha - a rich brown/slightly red creme
Super Sexy Dry - To be honest I just bought this for the sake of it. Not entirely 100% sure what it is. You use it on top of a top coat :S
Hangover Cure - cuticle treatment

These were all £1 each!! They retail at like £7.25 upwards.

I couldn't wait to try out silk stockings, so here it is.

It's safe to say that I am definately a fan. Not just of this colour but of the brand too. The bottles obviously are just the cutest ever, but also really practical. The handle of the brush is so nice to use because it's super long. The brush is flat and wide and the polish applied lovely too. This is 3 problem free coats - it could have been less but I wanted this look more opaque.

I have a great idea for LA confidential with the football coming up :) I'm sure you can guess what I'm thinking...

Do you like Ciate polishes too?

Kicking off with Nails Inc Garrick Street

Hello and welcome to my brand new, shiny blog!!

To start off I am showing you this beautiful colour by Nails Inc - Garrick Street.

This little bottle of polish is what has inspired me to start this blog. My mum bought me the Metallics Collection of Nails Inc off QVC instead of a present from her holiday - absolute win!! Anyway...I couldn't wait to get them and I desperately wanted to see pictures of these amazing colours so I could get a feel for them. However, I couldn't find any at all...so I gathered if I couldn't find any then there might be other people out there who want to see these swatches too. Hence the birth of Matilda's Manis.

This is all quite exciting and I have only ever read blogs before so you might have to bear with me until I get the grips with all this. Anyway, over to the pictures.

All the little pretties sitting together.

Emerald Street, Crown Court, Villiers Street, Monmouth Street and Garrick Street.

Garrick Street - indoors with flash.

This is 2 coats with Essie Mind the Gap basecoat and Orly Prisma Gold and Nailtek Fasten top coat.

It is such a beautiful purple with an overlay of blue which gives it a petrol look to it. It is a really nice formula too. You do need to use quite a loaded brush for this otherwise you will end up with bald spots. Does even out lovely after 2 coats though. I will definately try and get a picture of this in the sun tomorrow - it truely is stunning!
